everything is missing.
Power is the only trade where a mistake does not degrade a detail but stops the event. And it is the one most often underestimated — because a socket on the wall looks as though it answers the question. It does not. The question is not whether there is a socket, but how many independent circuits there are and what else is already on them.
What a normal socket carries
A typical household circuit is protected at 16 amps, so roughly three and a half kilowatts — and that applies to the whole circuit, not to each socket separately. Several outlets in one room usually hang off the same breaker. That is enough for a small system and some lighting, and it is quickly exhausted once there is a patio heater or a coffee machine next door. So the question we ask is never "is there power", but "how many separate circuits, and what is already on them".
When three-phase becomes necessary
As soon as several trades come together — lighting, sound, LED wall, perhaps a kitchen or heating as well — household supply no longer covers it, and you need a connection with more capacity plus a distribution unit that turns it into clean separate circuits. The advantage is not only the quantity: separate circuits mean a fault in the lighting does not take the sound with it. Many venues already have such connections — you just have to ask early enough where they are.
Generators: when they are worth it, and which one
On an open field there is no way around one. What matters is that it is not only large enough but also quiet enough and far enough away — a generator you can hear during the speeches is a problem that could have been solved beforehand. Then there is consumption over the length of the event: a tank that runs dry at midnight is as good as no generator at all.
Residual-current protection and tested equipment
At events, people, cables and often moisture are in the same place. Residual-current devices are therefore not an accessory but mandatory kit, and our equipment is tested regularly. This is the most invisible part of our work and the part we argue about least. It includes the boring side too: running cables where nobody trips over them, and covering the crossings where paths meet.

With sensibly divided circuits, part of the setup goes out instead of all of it — that is exactly what the dividing is for. We plan so that sound and emergency lighting are not on the same circuit as whatever draws the most.
Very variable, and it is a question worth asking. With distance, orientation and a quiet unit you can usually get it to the point where the audience no longer notices. Tell us early where the guests will be sitting.
